– Vicki Burns steps down as Exec Director of the Winnipeg Humane Society. Does this mean the WHS might return to its core mission of caring for cats and dogs, and leave the circus animals and bear hunt alone? I think their fundraising efforts would benefit.
– The condo building at the Dubrovnik site on Assiniboine made it through the appeal hearing. Colour me pleasantly surprised. Now if we can just put a stake in the Upper Fort Garry park plans and proceed with a new residential building there as well.
– I think the skating trail is great. I think it’s great we have the record. Now let’s all move on to something more important, like getting Winnipeg on this new Monopoly World Edition. We’re currently ranked #4 in the competition for two write-in spots.
– Just watched CTV coverage of the proposed hydro rate increase. At one point, reporter Kevin Armstrong says “…if Hydro determines a big industry is plugged in to the Manitoba economy…” while simultaneously plugging in an extension cord. Kevin (and all reporters), please don’t do things like that. You look plain goofy.
