  1. If I were the Bombers management, I don’t know if I’d want to draw too much attention to this signing. Of course it’s inevitable, but getting this guy is hardly something to celebrate.

    Hide your strippers, Winnipeg.

  2. Gong Show!

Maybe somebody should let Buzz & Boomer run this team’s PR brain-trust. They certainly couldn’t do any worse than Kelly & Co.!

  3. Charlie Rogers and Pacman will make superb additions to the football club. I hope they don’t get confused about the lack of a 4th down, and I certainly hope Pacman doesn’t try to call a fair catch when he’s sent to return a kick.

  4. He’s not actually signed yet. The Bombers aren’t allowed under league rules to talk about negotiations. Kelly was his usual douchebag self. This isn’t Philadelphia Kelly so get over it. We don’t have high crime, poverty, gangs in the street, and gun totin’ cornerbacks. Oh wait.

  5. Kenton and the other Cre-Com PR instructors can use the Bombers this season as a lesson in what not to do.

Mike Kelly and gang have been a walking PR nightmare since the spring. Do they even have professional PR people in the Bomber front office or is it just the Kelly and Bauer show? Cause with all the laid of journalists around Winnipeg, they could sure hire one to offer some advice.

From this, to the radio call in thing, to Kelly insulting the fans, along with the secrecy about the Asper take over, I can’t think of more disorganized communications effort.

  6. Yeah, this is a PR disaster:

    1. Never set ground rules.

    2. Don’t be combative.

    3. Don’t deny the truth.

    4. Tell the truth.

    5. Give the local media a break.

    6. Don’t treat the media like little children.

    7. Don’t hold a press conference to say you’re NOT talking.

  7. The arrogance is unbelievable. Once Kelly is fired, and he will be, who in their right mind would risk hiring such a PR nightmare? He is not so smart as to recognize that is he?

Now the arrogance is extended to Murphy who has the audacity to stand there and sprout rules that he clearly is incapable of following.

And Bauer defends this gong show.

The Bombers had better start winning and soon. Else the fans will make life unbelievably miserable for these clowns. The down side is the players will be collateral damage.

Let it be heard loud and clear Bomber players: we do not hold you responsible for the debacle this team has become.

  9. The Blue Bombers organization is such a pathetic joke… I swear this franchise becomes worse (not just team-wise) every single year. Canad Inns Stadium is on the verge of falling apart and being condemned. The team is stumbling and bumbling their way through their sure-to-be 20th Grey Cup-less season.

Yet… so many in Manitoba spend their spare time cheering them on and supporting them.

    WHY?!?!?

  10. In politics or entertainment all publicity is good publicity. Having a jerk like Kelly and an issue like Pacman is just great for attention. Give Lyle marks for genius if it sells seats

  11. @ jack

Not sure what you are saying. Blue Bomber fans should not continue to be fans?

A real fan does not jump on and off the bandwagon. I think I’d rather be a disappointed fan than a fair-weather fan.
